Is it warming up in your neck of the woods? It is here in Florida — temps are reaching the 80s on some days. Lots of sun here too, which means for you warm-weather folks that if you aren’t already armed with sunscreen, you should put it on your shopping list and then put it on your little ones whenever they’re playing outdoors (make sure you slather yourself in the stuff too).

More than 90 percent of skin cancers are the result of sun exposure, according to “KidsHealth.” And unprotected sun exposure is even more dangerous for kids with many moles or freckles. So Slip! Slap! Slop! those kids of yours — slip on a shirt, slap on a wide-brimmed hat and slop on the sunscreen (make it at least an SPF 15 and reapply every two hours if your kids are in the water or are sweating a lot). And if your young ones do happen to burn in the sun, “KidsHealth” offers some what-to-do tips right here.

What are your tips for keeping kids safe in the sun? Leave us a comment and tell all.
