Potty Training – When Should You Start? March 17, 2009
There’s no magical potty-training age, say the experts at Parents.com. Determining whether or not your toddler is ready to tackle the toilet is more about development than birthday. If your cutie-pie has the following skills, then it might be time to think about ditching the diapers.
- Can stay dry for two hours or through a nap.
- Can pull pants down and up.
- Can get on and off the potty.
- Can follow simple directions.
Don’t toss all your diapers, though. It’s quite common for toddlers to lose interest in pottying. Just follow your little one’s lead. Encourage when there’s interest, and back off when there’s not.
