According to my 8-year-old’s estimates, he’s the only one he knows who doesn’t have a Nintendo DS. Truth be told, I didn’t really know what Nintendo DS was until yesterday, when a mom at a birthday party clued me in. I guess that’s why he doesn’t have one. That, and the fact that I’m not a huge fan of electronics for kids. We do have a Wii, and while I get pretty excited to see my boys jumping around fiercely, working up a sweat, it still bothers me that they’re pretty much tuned out while staring at the TV screen.

I’m wondering: How do you feel about electronics for kids — TV, computer, Wii, video games and, yes, that Nintendo DS that everyone seems to have? Leave me a comment and share your opinion, please.
