Baby Slings – Safe or Not? May 14, 2009

Did you or do you use a sling to cart around your baby? I did, even though I often got tangled up in the contraption and worried my babes would drop right through the bottom of the thing. Seems babies really are dropping out of slings, and over the past 10 years, there have been at least 22 reports of serious injury (skull fractures, head injuries, contusions and abrasions) due to sling-type carriers. Consumer Reports has even named the sling one of the five products not to buy for your baby.

Some say most slings are safe if used properly.

What do you think?
