Don’t tell your kids you’re on a diet. Save them the burden of knowing you’re counting calories, trying to downsize your size or watching the scale like a hawk. There’s no need to saddle them with your body issues, because surely, you don’t want them growing up obsessing about food and weight, right? What you should do is talk to them about nutrition — tell them what constitutes a healthy meal, teach them about fruits and veggies, get them exercising every day, and when your kiddos ask you why you’re not getting an ice cream cone on family treat night, tell a white lie, says Bev at That’s Fit.
