Young Moms With Cancer: Monday Mention July 5, 2010

Did you know that 70,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer every year, and that survival rates and quality of life have not improved in 30 years? Sure enough. And chances are, you know a young mom — or will soon know one — who is struggling to balance her cancer care with child care. It’s a tough road, for sure.

I’m Too Young For This cancer foundation can help — it exists to ensure that every young adult affected by cancer is given access to the best age-appropriate support so they can get busy living at every stage of their survivorship. There are local chapters, so point your young friends this way, and see if it makes them feel better. They can follow on Facebook, too.
