Lots of Pregnancy Pounds = Fat Kids? Monday Mention August 16, 2010

42 pounds gained =
10 pounds / 2 ounces @ birth
57 pounds @ age 7

I gained a lot of weight during my two pregnancies. I tend to think it was a requirement for birthing my two whopper boys. One was 10 pounds, 9 ounces. The other, a smaller 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Were the pounds too much, though? I mean, one study says too much pregnancy weight can lead to bigger babies, which can cause obesity in kids, independent of genetics. Uh Oh. Are my now-pretty-lean guys headed for problems later down the line? How about your kiddos?
