Our Founder:

Created by a single mother of two young children, PlanetKid was truly founded by someone who understands your needs and concerns when it comes to child care.

We know how stressful it can be to worry about “what you’ll do with the kids.” Who can you call to watch them? What if you’re late because you can’t get someone at the last minute? What if the babysitter doesn’t show up? What if you’re working part-time or non-traditional hours? Why should you pay for time you’re not using for child care? No more worrying. PlanetKid provides full-time, part-time, occasional and Drop-In care during Days, Nights and Weekends. Even more exciting — we believe in and provide safe, fun, loving, quality, genuine care for your children that you can trust, in a fully-licensed center.

Our Director:

Lauren Housman will be a familiar face at PlanetKid. As PlanetKid Director, Lauren will use her passion and dedication to create a fun, loving, silly and enriching environment, which will enable your children to learn and grow mentally, physically and socially.

As the oldest of five siblings and a babysitter for more than 10 years, Lauren has the understanding, love and patience necessary for Child Care.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a minor in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University and has a VPK-endorsed Directors Certificate through the State of Florida. With previous Director experience at a center with more than 90 children, Lauren interacted daily with children and supervised 30 Child Care teachers.
