Kids’ television shows are sometimes, well, not really kids’ televisions shoes—unless you believe kids should watch mouthy, sassy tweens exchanging slams and zingers with one another. There is no doubt that children mimic what they see, and if they watch programs that spotlight sass, then they are likely to model sass in their own lives. But kids enjoy TV, so what’s a parent to do in order to allow some screen time? Do you have any fave shows that don’t compromise the behavior of your kiddos?

Today kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week for many schools, and we hope you’ve found some clever and creative ways to thank your educators for all of their dedication and hard work. In case you are stuck on what to do, here’s an idea: Ask each student to bring in a flower—it can be store-bought, home-picked, or handmade—and secretly assemble each one into a vase, or two or three, one morning before school. Then, surprise your teacher with a bouquet of blooms. It’s likely the flowers will last a few days, maybe even the whole school week. How are you planning to thank teachers this year?

Does boiling eggs scare you like it does me? By “scared,” I mean, do you fear mutilating your cooked eggs every time you peel them? I just can’t seem to consistently get it right, and most times, my egg loses way more than its shell. Any pointers you can share for perfectly peeled eggs?
