There will be two classroom parties — one featuring caramel-apple making for 18 second graders, and one offering all sorts of treats and sweets served by costumed parents to 120 kiddos in the fifth grade. Then we’ll wind down and gear back up for evening trick-or-treating (even a pizza + costume party at a neighborhood clubhouse if we can get there on time), and, of course, there will be the annual sorting of candy at the end of the night. Bedtime should be fun since there will be school the day, but hey, it’s gotta be done because Halloween is fun! Now, tell us your plans for spooktacular celebrations!

The 10-year-old is talking something about being a baby, and I’m just not sure how that might turn out, considering he’s about 5 feet 3 inches tall and 115 pounds. Hmmm. The younger 8-year-old guy has not made any costume announcements, but he is a current fan of Star Wars, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he follows sort sort of clone trooper theme. I can’t wait to wear long-sleeved shirts and the occasional jacket, I am all ready to buy my pumpkin-scented Yankee candles, and I can’t wait to throw up a few spooky decorations with my boys. Now, I’m not too pumped about the leaves that will soon cover my yard, but the crisp temps — I’m ready. Fall might just be my favorite season. What is yours?
